Are you cleansing the right way? And why it's a big NO to makeup wipes!
Did you know most people aren’t cleansing the right way? And do you know if your skin is truly clean? And why makeup wipes are a big NO?
Cleansing correctly is the first step to achieving radiant healthy skin!
Here’s a few tips from Lel
1. Use enough cleanser to be able to make small circles around your face and neck using your finger tips, this will help lift foundation, makeup and daily grime. Don’t hurry this step – massage for 30 seconds to 1 minute to make sure you are lifting everything from your skin.
2. Make sure you remove the cleanser with a cloth – don’t just shake your head under the shower, that does not do you any favours! It’s the action of wiping away the cleanser and daily grime that really cleans your skin.
3. If you’ve been wearing makeup and/or SPF or your skin is dusty and grimy from working outside – it’s a good idea to cleanse twice before applying moisturiser to make sure your skin is really clean.
4. We love our Special Cleansing Cloth for removing Coconut Cream Cleanser as it has the added benefit of very gently exfoliating your skin at the same time. It’s suitable for all skin types including sensitive. Always follow cleansing with our Dream Cream for maximum benefits!
5. And our Coconut Cream Cleanser won the Best Cream Cleanser at the Organic Beauty Awards!
How does your skin feel after you’ve cleansed?
If it feels tight, it’s likely that the cleanser you are using has stripped your natural oils. If this is happening, you should change to a cream cleanser that’s gentle and calming and won’t disrupt your skins barrier.
A note about makeup wipes!
As a beauty therapist I can’t tell you how many skin issues I have solved by simply asking clients if they use makeup wipes! Many makeup wipes contain synthetic fragrances and alcohol which can leave your skin inflamed, sore, dry and itchy. They remove your skins natural oils and protective barrier, which can cause long term issues.
Your skin won’t repair itself until you stop using them and change to a creamy cleanser without any active ingredients. Wipes may remove makeup, but they don’t really clean your skin.
Skincare doesn’t have to be complicated, and you are never too old or too young to start looking after your skin!
Beauties, cleansing really is the foundation for good skin health!
